More than 50 Russian companies have obtained certificates for exporting dairy products to China

Russian Satellite News Agency, Moscow, September 27. Artem Belov, general manager of the Russian National Union of Dairy Producers, said that more than 50 Russian companies have obtained certificates for exporting dairy products to China.

China imports dairy products worth 12 billion yuan a year, with an average annual growth rate of 5-6 percent, and it is one of the largest markets in the world, Belov said. According to him, Russia obtained a certificate for supplying dairy products to China for the first time at the end of 2018, and a quarantine certificate for dried dairy products in 2020. According to Belov, the best model for the future will be for Russian companies not only to export to China, but also to build factories there.

In 2021, Russia exported more than 1 million tons of dairy products, 15% more than in 2020, and the value of exports increased by 29% to $470 million. China’s top five dairy suppliers include Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, the United States and Uzbekistan. China has become a major importer of whole milk powder and whey powder.

According to a research report released by the Federal Agro-Industrial Complex Product Export Development Center (AgroExport) of the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, China’s imports of major dairy products will increase in 2021, including whey powder, skimmed milk powder, whole milk powder, and processed milk.
