Chinese Inspection and Quarantine Requirements for Poultry Meat Imported from Slovenia

1. Basis

“Food Safety Law of the People’s Republic of China” and its implementing regulations, “Entry and Exit Animal and Plant Quarantine Law of the People’s Republic of China” and its implementing regulations, “Import and Export Commodity Inspection Law of the People’s Republic of China” and its implementing regulations, “State Council on Strengthening Food, etc. Special Provisions for the Supervision and Administration of Product Safety, as well as the “Measures for the Administration of Import and Export Food Safety” and “Regulations on the Registration and Administration of Overseas Production Enterprises of Imported Food”

2. Agreement Basis

“Protocol of the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China and the Food Safety, Veterinary and Plant Protection Bureau of the Republic of Slovenia on the Inspection, Quarantine and Veterinary Hygiene Requirements for China’s Import of Poultry Meat from Slovenia.”

3. Products are allowed to be Imported

Permitted imported Slovenian poultry meat refers to edible frozen (bone-in or boneless) chicken (live poultry is slaughtered and bloodletted to remove the hair, internal organs, head, wings and the edible parts of the body behind the feet) and its edible by-products.

Edible poultry by-products include: frozen chicken feet, frozen chicken wings (including or excluding wing tips), frozen chicken combs, frozen chicken cartilage, frozen chicken skin, frozen chicken necks, frozen chicken livers, and frozen chicken hearts.

4. Production enterprise requirements

Slovenian poultry meat production enterprises (including slaughter, segmentation, processing and storage enterprises) should meet the requirements of China, Slovenia and the European Union’s relevant veterinary hygiene and public health regulations, and should be registered by the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China.
